Snippets from Milan 2024 - trends in furniture design

And there was certainly no shortage of inspiration—this year’s edition of Italy’s largest design event hosted 1,950 exhibitors from 35 countries. The Salone del Mobile.Milano is a showcase of the latest trends and innovations in furniture and interior design, bringing together designers, manufacturers, architects, and design enthusiasts from all over the world. It is held regularly at the Fiera Milano exhibition center in Rho, but during the fair, visitors can also explore individual design studios across Milan. Our team returned brimming with impressions, sensations, and experiences—some of which we’ve selected to share in this article.

When it comes to kitchen units, what caught our attention the most were the ever-improving hidden storage opening systems, a cordless kettle powered directly on the kitchen countertop, and an unscratchable hob from AEG.

In the lighting category, we were absolutely captivated by the Lasvit stand (photo 1), the Skynest LED lighting by Flos (photo 2), and the shelf lighting system by Porro.
